Referral and availability notes

The child that goes missing has to be reported by the parent or carer to the local police. Once the child is found the police will send me a copy of the Found Report. The Missing Children Co-ordinator will arrange a home visit .He will ask the child and parent if they would like a return to home interview, with the aim of finding out about the child’s missing experience and any safeguarding issues that may arise from the interview. If the interview establishes any child to be in need or any family intervention is required, a further referral may have to be made to other services.
If relevant, the co-ordinator will communicate and update other professionals.

CSE : During the return to home interviews, if any  information is shared about CSE risks, the relevant organisations will be informed to then share and coordinate  information. This will enable the service to enact their safeguarding procedures if necessary.
